Honorable Darian P. Dernovish

The Honorable Darian P. Dernovish was appointed to the bench in 2018.   He is married and has two children.   He is a graduate of Pittsburg State University and Washburn University School of Law.  Prior to being appointed, he served as Deputy Chief Counsel for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and also served as Interim Secretary.    Prior to joining KDHE, he served as Legal Counsel and Records Custodian for the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP).  He also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney and as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas.  Prior to KHP, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Shawnee County, Kansas.   Before to entering public service, he was an attorney at the law firm of McDowell, Rice, Smith and Gaar and at the Law Offices of Thad Nugent, both in Overland Park, KS.
