Judge Thomas G. Luedke was appointed to the bench in 2018. He graduated from Washburn University in 1983 with Bachelor of Arts in History. He graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 1986. After graduation he served three years active duty in the United States Marine Corps as a Judge Advocate. After leaving the Marine Corps in 1990 Judge Luedke was briefly employed by Kansas Legal Services in Emporia, Kansas. In October of 1990 he secured employment with the United States Attorney’s Office in Topeka and remained in that position for 27 years. He served in both the criminal and civil divisions while employed with U.S. Attorney’s Office. In 2005, he was selected as a member of a team of Department of Justice attorneys assigned to assist the Iraqi government in the prosecution of Saddam Hussein. He is married and has three children.
