The Topeka Bar Association Expungement Day Project offers individuals the opportunity to have CERTAIN Adult Criminal Arrests, Convictions, and Diversions expunged.

Submit Expungement Petition

On Thursday September 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Agriculture Hall building located at the Stormont Vail Event Center. Will need to BRING; Govt. issued photo ID, filing fee of $195* Money Order suggested.

Appear at Expungement Hearing

Every individual will be scheduled for an expungement hearing on November 9 or 10, 2022, for final determination on whether the petition is granted. Prior to the hearings, petitions will be reviewed to determine if there are any outstanding costs owed in the case and if the crime qualifies for an expungement.

Only ADULT Arrests, Convictions, and Diversions occurring in Shawnee County District Court qualify for the project.  Federal and municipal court cases cannot be addressed through this project. 

Applicants are solely responsible for filing all pleadings and attending court appearance as required. 

* Poverty and hardship forms will be available, and will require proof of household income. 

Lawyers will be available on Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stormont Vail Event Center- Agriculture Hall to confidentially answer your questions about the expungement process and the expungement law. Lawyers will not provide legal representation beyond the limited service provided at the event. Lawyers will not enter an appearance in the expungement proceeding and will not appear with an applicant in court.
