GET YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE BEFORE AUGUST 31st: DATABASE UPGRADE TO DELAY MARRIAGE LICENSE PROCESSING
Due to a Kansas Department of Vital Statistics database upgrade, marriage licenses will not be issued statewide between September 7 and 14.
Marriage licenses are handled through the Probate Department in the Clerk’s Office. The license fee is $85.50.

How much does a marriage license cost?
A marriage license costs $85.50. The fee will be paid at the time of application and will be collected through the Centralized Court Payment Center.

What information is needed to apply for a marriage license?
For the Marriage License Application:
- Complete full name including middle names and surnames.
- City, State, zip code and City and County of Residence.
- Age
Other information you will need to fill out on the Worksheet for the Office of Vital Stats:
- Party A & B: Title - Groom, Bride or Spouse:
- Party A & B: First, Middle & Last if Suffix
- Party A & B: Last name prior to first marriage if different
- Party A & B: Date of Birth
- Party A & B: Birthplace
- Party A & B: Residence – State or Foreign Country
- Party A & B: Residence – County or Province
- Party A & B: City or Town
- Party A & B: Father or Parent Name Prior to First Marriage (Complete Full Name)
- Party A & B: Father – Parent Birthplace
- Party A & B: Mother or Parent Name Prior to First Marriage (Complete Full Name)
- Party A & B: Mother – Parent Birthplace
If one or both applicants are under 18, this information is required:
- Party A and/or B: Mother-Parent or Guardian Consenting
- Party A and/or B: Father-Parent or Guardian Consenting
- Party A and/or B: Have all living parents or guardians consented
The ceremony is expected to be performed by:
- Names of person performing ceremony
- Title of person performing ceremony
- Street address of person performing ceremony
If either party desires to designate a new legal name at the time of marriage:
- Party A and/or B: Legal First Name
- Party A and/or B: New legal Middle Name
- Party A and/or B: New legal Lase name

These can be obtained from Vital Statistics.
